In This Book
Our book, titled "Kurdish Culture: Between Individual
Capabilities and Social Organization," addresses the issue of culture and
its role in establishing a delicate balance between the two sides of this
complex equation that dominates all aspects of the public life of the Kurdish
people. The influences of these interactive parties extend beyond the
individual's duties and the rights associated with them, sometimes delving
deeper than the surface view of societal activities and the interconnected
relationships that involve the shared interests of its members.
Within the context of equal or varied evaluation of this
equation, the individual's level of awareness and the progress of society are
simultaneously revealed. Hence, the significance of studying societal culture
lies in its theoretical and practical aspects, which is what we aim to achieve
in the book's four sections.
The first section consists of three main axes. The first axis
is dedicated to defining societal culture and its characteristics as a complex
term that encompasses numerous aspects and multiple components. This
necessitates psychologists and sociologists to define them separately based on
their specific expertise, making it difficult for the reader to access and
present them within a single framework. Moreover, it is challenging for
researchers to study them collectively. This prompted us to divide these
definitions into groups and then explain each part within its general main
component, which is "societal culture." In the second axis, emphasis
was placed on the theoretical foundations of societal culture from two
different perspectives. The first perspective revolves around theories related
to evolution and cultural conflict, while the second perspective focuses on
theories related to social organization.
Moving on to the third axis, it aims to identify the types
and components of societal culture, such as family culture, village culture,
urban culture, national culture, religious culture, and other types…
The second section encompasses the four foundations upon
which societal culture is built, and each foundation is explained within a
dedicated axis. The first axis revolves around timeless questions that occupy
the minds of conscious elites during critical moments. Numerous examples are
gathered to illustrate the vast heritage of philosophical, literary, and
scientific foundations that contribute to self-realization in the Kurdish
individual. In the second axis, the focus is on harnessing the individual's
psychological strengths. The third axis delves into the organic relationships
that integrate in two stages: the first being the educational process, and the
second being self-learning. The fourth axis revolves around the necessary
foundations for planning the institutionalization of societal culture within
four interconnected realms: art, philosophy, productive professions, and wise
politics. These realms simultaneously reflect the essence of human beings with
all their elements of emotions, thoughts, muscular efforts, and adaptability to
a healthy environment.
In the third section, there is an extensive study on the
importance of mind mapping in educational programs, investment projects, and
analytical research. This section consists of two separate axes. The first axis
defines the concept of mind mapping and explains its connection, which links
the philosophy of the mind with culture. The second axis explores the
characteristics of mind mapping, its preparation methods, utilization
techniques, and its relationship with societal culture.
The fourth section is dedicated to illustrating the evolution
of societal culture across diverse civilizations, countries, and different time
periods. This has led to a tremendous accumulation of knowledge, starting from
human attempts to compensate for cultural acquisition through critical thinking
and the regulations that govern societal culture in its legal aspects,
individual behavior, and spirituality. These three aspects form a guided
trinity that directs humanity towards new horizons, where it discovers the
cosmic village through its creative achievements, leading to further stages of
development.
Apart from the conclusions reached by the researcher, which
are recorded in the research's conclusion, there are appendices added to the
book. These appendices elaborate on the writings expressing the researcher's
opinions on the same subject over the past four decades.
